Welcome to your local Music Club. South Florida is the hub of development for this organization. In the near future you can expect to see a chapter in your home town. AMC is a way for all those involved to communicate, learn, play and socialize in a setting based around the world of Music. Our mission is to allow others to get together in an environment that entertains, educates and promotes musical friendships. We want this to be a true club, many functions, include everyone and most of all have fun. Keep in contact with other members through this website. If you would like to operate a chapter in your community, let us know. With our easy format you too can be part of America's Music Club! Write us if you have a venue that can support our great events. If you are not on our mailing list send us an e mail ask to be on it. We will keep you updated of our events.
NEWS
The rock lives on. We are again going at it. This time we meet every Thursday at HammerJacks Sportsbar and Grill in Davie, Florida. We already held a few events and they went great. This is a huge non smoking room with a 24 channel PA, equipped with subs plus overhead mains. We provide GK and Fender amps for your bass and guitars, JBL monitors, Shure mic's, an effects module and you have pro lighting that sets the stage area mood. Our jam is a bit different. We start set up and the sign up sheet at 7PM. Those who get there early have choice to when they want to play. If you are a customer of the venue then you get to use the gear. We encourage you to come early, have something to eat and a refreshment. They have great food and anything your thirst requires. The idea behind this is to get to make new friends within the local music community. Don't expect to show up late and immediately get on stage. The club supports us so we must support them back. All they ask is that we are bring them good customers then we can continue to use this awesome room. When you see this room and the way it is run you will understand why we ask for and expect great customer support. The theme of this night is based around rock n roll music. This is not a true open mic. We are not having comedians, rap, or even acoustic solo acts. This club is the setting for some good old danceable rock n roll party music. If you come to play try to follow the rules of engagement: 1. Know a few of the very standard cover tunes that everyone is expected to play, beginning to end. No repeat tunes. If someone already played it, it is no longer available that night, please.
2. Have your guitar tuned to standard tuning before you get on stage and plug into an amplifier. Communicate with the house band player of your instrument. You must connect and adjust your desired settings and layout with his help. Do not power up, unplug or connect to anyone elses gear without prior permission. It helps us stay friends.
3. Expect to be allotted your time based on the amount of players who show and your ability to keep up with others on stage. If you are new at this or having issues staying in the pocket your play time may be limited. It is for everyones good, don't take it too personal. Rehearse at home and return for another shot at it. 4. Come early to sign up for your spot and stay late to support the others that are playing too. Those who show late and do not support our hosting venue may be bumped off the list. Sometimes we fill up early and those who come later won't fit into a play spot that night.
5. Show you appreciate the use of this club by being a good customer. They are supporting this event and helping to keep this club active. Come early and have something to eat and drink. This will keep everyone happy and help secure the use of this great facility for future events.
Let me know if you have any suggestions. I listen to all and react to some. It is a balancing act trying to please everyone and I understand that sometimes it is not possible. Music is a very subjective thing. The goal is to keep the tempo set to a higher standard here because this club is in a location where others will be stopping in and hopefully stay a while. There is a good amount of walk in traffic from the bowling crowd. Our mission here is to entertain, not pain. If you are not prepared to perform to an acceptable level in a very public setting then try to be realistic with your skills and participation. This can be a great place to meet and learn from others. A good mix of talent will be on hand. It should be a fun time and will be worth the effort to attend.

We have access to a few great locations that will host weekly/monthly gatherings where we can get together to play, meet others to complete your band, talk and promote the biz and hobby aspect of this great art. We plan to organize many "how to" learning seminars:
How to operate a mixing board, How to set up power amps, crossovers and effects, How to choose the best mic's, How to set up your guitar, How to recone speakers and repair amps, How to set up and light a stage, How to operate computer based recording systems, How to produce music DVD demos, How to promote you and your band...
A music gear yard sale is in the near future. Bring your un-needed, un-wanted gear and equiptment to sell or trade. Pass out bussiness cards, meet others that can help you learn and advance your craft.
If you are a local artist, own a music store, service music gear, operate a music venue, teach music... then you need to be part of this. I want to bring together the manufacture, vendor, user, pro's and beginners.
Our meetings are held on weeknights starting around 7pm. This allows us who have to work during the day to get money for new gear and hit the sack early. 7 PM- Greet, Eat and Meet. 8 PM- The stage opens and the games begin.
The group fades out around 11pm depending on the musicians that come to play. Bring your gear and flex. This is not a place for egos or stage hogs. We try to be fair on our time and let everyone take a turn.
